Laminate flooring is a floor covering made of HDF board with a printed wear layer. The top only looks like wood (sometimes tile or stone) because it is a photograph covered in a clear durable finish. While routinely confused with vinyl flooring, laminate is not vinyl flooring because it is made of completely different materials.

There are many reasons why laminate flooring is very popular, the first being price. Laminates are one of the most cost-effective floor coverings available and give a clean stone, tile or wood floor affect in living areas such as bedrooms, lounges, and dining rooms. Most laminate floors are not suitable for wet areas, such as kitchens, and bathrooms.
